Fibre King moves towards Green
As part of celebrations to mark their 80th anniversary celebrations, Fibre King's CEO Earle Roberts announced the company is moving towards reducing their environmental impacts.
The first initiative has seen the company offsetting Fibre King's greenhouse gas emissions from electricity use, company vehicles and air travel.
Fibre King is reviewing a number of options for offsetting their carbon footprint including funding tree planting to sequester carbon, using 'greenpower' such as wind farm output and investing in greenwaste recycling.
"Fibre King now compiles data on our electricity and car and air kilometers, then on a quarterly basis reviews the available carbon offset options. This is the major step in moving Fibre King to a more environmentally sustainable footing" says Earle Roberts. "Next we are reviewing options to reduce our water consumption, a project initiated by our factory staff.
